Spanish licenses by June 1

Despite staff changes, extended deadlines, competitive litigation and a slew of applications, Spain’s online gambling regulator will keep its promise to issue licenses to suitable applicants on June 1st, the government’s home affairs and administration ministry announced this week.

And once the licenses are issued it will be down to business almost immediately…but there will be no in-play betting allowed, at least for now.

It is understood that regulator Enrique Alejo’s staff are currently working their way through some 59 or more applications.
