Sportingbet marketing exec made redundant

Australian marketing publication mUmBRELLA reports the redundancy of Sportingbet’s Group Marketing and Sales position under the leadership of Director Richard Howarth following the group’s acquisition by William Hill.

Sportingbet Group Australia chief executive officer Michael Sullivan said Howarth had been an “invaluable member” of the Group during which time he and his team faced and conquered many challenges as the business continued to grow.

Howarth oversaw the integration of Centrebet and the coordination of the two brands and was lauded for the strong job he did in managing the marketing department’s aggressive growth over the time of his tenure.

“It’s incredibly competitive and fast moving and has all the challenges you’d expect from a digital marketing, acquisition and retention category. It has been a pleasure and great experience to direct the businesses marketing and serve on the board under the leadership of chief executive officer Michael Sullivan – and the camaraderie within the team,” said Howarth.

Howarth will leave having served almost two years at the firm.
