The legalisation of sports betting in India was among several special mentions raised in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India, today (Monday).
Lawyer KTS Tulsi, part of the 243 member Rajya Sabha, who moved the Special Mention which would address the legalisation of sports betting, said the spirit of cricket would not be harmed if betting in sports was allowed while pointing out the economic advantages sports betting would bring in terms of additional jobs.
