UK Gambling Commission launches new consultation

News on 7 Dec 2015

The UK Gambling Commission has launched its second major consultation in as many weeks, this time focusing on software technical standards and testing, and urging test agencies, software providers, licensed operators and other interested parties to respond with their views before February 11 next year.

The treatment of updates is included in the enquiry, which seeks to streamline the process and examine which updates require external testing, and which ones can be handled in-house.

Launching existing games on new delivery channels is also a subject for discussion, along with Return to Player (RTP) monitoring and compliance, and independent annual audits.

“The complexity of the online gambling market and growth in our regulatory sphere have reinforced the need to ensure that the standards set out in the Testing Strategy remain clear, transparent and promote an efficient and effective approach to regulation,” the Commission explained in a statement.
