Following closely on the heels of its announcement as the official shirt sponsor of English football club Aston Villa FC (see previous report), Unibet has clinched a two-year commercial deal with Warwickshire Country Cricket Club as its first official betting partner.

Unibet will have a presence and provide responsible betting opportunities at Edgbaston for all Birmingham Bears home games in the NatWest T20 Blast as well as on international match days.

Unibet will also enjoy branding on the collar of all Birmingham Bears playing shirts and on perimeter branding within the Edgbaston stadium bowl.

Gareth Roberts, commercial director at Warwickshire CCC, commenting on the deal, said: “We’re committed to providing the best possible experience, in a responsible way, for our spectators in attendance at Edgbaston.

“Unibet share these ambitions and we look forward to working with its team to develop some innovative match day opportunities.”

“Edgbaston is one of the most enjoyable grounds to watch cricket in this country and as official betting partner we look forward to providing Bears fans with a variety of exciting and innovative bet types on the many big matches they host,” Sam Mead, head of marketing UK at Unibet, added.

“Warwickshire CCC, like Unibet, very much lead the way as innovators in their field and we are particularly looking forward to working with them on England’s first Day/Night Test match against the West Indies later this summer.”

In addition to domestic cricket opportunities, Unibet’s partnership with Edgbaston will include a presence at England’s inaugural Day/Night Investec Test match against the West Indies and an Investec Test against India in 2018.

The venue also hosts NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day for the next two years and a NatWest International T20 against Australia in 2018.
