Vietnam deports illegal online sports betting Koreans

A police bust in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam that broke up a large illegal football sports betting ring last month (see previous reports) had a sequel this week when 14 South Koreans involved in the ring were deported.

Prior to leaving Vietnam the deportees paid fines of between $470 and $940 for operating an illegal online football gambling site, according to local media reports.

The computer equipment used to operate the illegal enterprise was confiscated.
