The dynamic management team at UK interactive gambling group NetplayTV plc has announced another new partnership, this time bringing the first interactive television gambling casino to Scotland.

Netplay has partnered with TV distribution firm STV Group plc in the venture, which will be delivered on a national terrestrial broadcast channel. STV is the biggest commercial broadcaster in Scotland reaching over 4 million viewers every month.

NetPlayTV operates a number of live interactive TV shows including SuperCasino.com and ChallengeJackpot.com. The shows allow viewers to interact with the TV programme, placing real cash bets on ‘live’ casino and bingo events including a live roulette wheel, spun by a real croupier, and live Blackjack.

The interactive TV casino will be broadcast live on STV in the late night schedule on Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week, with effect from August 2009. The launch of the new casino service on STV will be supported by additional web, cinema and press advertising.

NetPlay’s service is fully regulated by both the UK, and Alderney Gambling Commissions.

Guy Templer, New Business Development Director of NetPlay TV plc, said: “Concluding this deal with STV is a major milestone for UK broadcasting.”

Martin Higginson, Group Chief Executive of NetPlay added: “I am extremely pleased to have signed this landmark deal with STV. It has always been our aim to broadcast our interactive TV services on a major TV channel.”

STV Ventures m.d. David Archer said: “The recent OFCOM ruling in June 2009 has allowed us to explore new revenue generating options and we have moved quickly to take advantage of this opportunity to offer an exciting new service to STV viewers. NetPlayTV has been able to provide us with a fully regulated service that its players clearly enjoy and we are very pleased to be working in partnership with them.”
