AGA is betting on Reid

The respected industry publication Las Vegas Review Journal reported Friday that the American Gaming Association, a trade body comprised of most of America’s top terrestrial gambling giants, is backing the re-election of Democrat and veteran Nevada politician Harry Reid in the November mid-terms.
Frank Fahrenkopf, President of the AGA, confirmed his intentions during a Las Vegas press conference on the relocation of the Global Gaming Expo to the Sands Expo in 2011, saying that he is supporting the re-election of the Senate Majority Leader over Republican opponent Sharron Angle.
“The question is are you better off having the majority leader of the senate, who can control what gets to the floor to be voted on, or a freshman senator?” Fahrenkopf reportedly said.
“My job is to protect the industry and protect Nevada and states where gaming is located,” Fahrenkopf told the Las Vegas Review Journal, describing Reid as “…the most knowledge person on gaming in the senate” because of his service as the past chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission.
