Betfair shuffles board

Betfair Group Plc made several announcements of changes to its Board today (Monday).

Peter Rigby has been appointed as a non-executive director and member of the Remuneration Committee effective April 1, 2014.

Rigby was chief executive officer of FTSE 250 Informa plc until the end of 2013. He joined Informa in 1983 and served as chief executive officer from 1988 until last year, during which time Informa grew to a business with revenues of GBP 1.2 billion and a market capitalisation exceeding GBP 3 billion.

Other changes include that of the retirement from the board of non-executive directors Mike McTighe and Fru Hazlit as of March 31, 2014.

Leo Quinn, who joined the board on March 5, 2014 (see previous report), has been appointed as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and will additionally join the Nomination Committee.

Ian Dyson, who has been with the board since 2010 and chairs the audit committee, has been named senior independent director and a member of the Nomination Committee.

Peter Jackson joins the Remuneration Committee and Betfair Chairman Gerald Corbett will replace Fru Hazlit as Chair of the Corporate Responsibility Committee.
