Credit card fees for UK gambling transactions

British BarclayCard using punters will get less for their money as the company imposes new fees on gambling transactions reports ThisIsMoney.co.uk.

Currently, bets placed and lottery tickets purchased utilising BarclayCard are treated as straight forward purchases and attract no charges, however, in a move that is sure to irk gambling customers, the company will for the first time treat gambling transactions as cash withdrawals and charge a fee of 2.99 percent on the wager amount (or a minimum GBP 2.99) effective May, 28, 2012.
