‘Drop online casino and poker offerings’, German regulators tell applicants

News on 3 Nov 2012

German gambling regulators considering a reported 90 applicants vying for the county’s 20 sports betting licenses have advised applicants that they will have to drop online casino and poker activities if they are among the lucky few to secure a licence.

Attempts to get around this condition by corporate manoeuvring have clearly been anticipated, because the advisory also includes a proviso requiring licence holders to guarantee that no company associated with them will be used to offer such products.
