ESSA publish first quarter integrity report

ESSA sports betting integrity organisation has published its first quarter 2018 report detailing receipt of fifty suspicious betting alerts.

Tennis led the table with 27 alerts over the past quarter, followed by football with eleven and Table Tennis with 4.  The remaining eight alerts were received on badminton, volleyball, basketball, beach volleyball, esports and ice hockey.

ESSA reported on the “resounding” success of seconding their betting integrity officer to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to assist in monitoring the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang saying it would like to see the approach adopted by other sporting bodies during high profile events.
