Sir Ian Prosser, former CEO of Bass plc, has been appointed chairman at problem gambling group Gamcare, replacing Anthony Jennens who died in January this year.

A Chartered Accountant with a distinguished business career in the brewing industry, Sir Ian was knighted for his services to business and society in 1995, and continues to serve in a voluntary capacity on a number of boards, including the BP Pension Trustees, the Aviva Pension Fund and the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes.

“I have been tremendously impressed by the skill and dedication of the GamCare staff and I look forward to working with them to make a real difference to the lives of problem gamblers and their families,” Sir Ian commented Thursday.
