New China football deal for Vodone

The Hong Kong-based new sports media group VODone had signed a ‘strategic alliance’ agreement with Chinese Football Association Super League team “Liaoning Whowin”.

The agreement will see the company becoming the main sponsor of Liaoning Whowin for the 2013 CSL season.

“This marks our formal expansion into the CSL to become the first CSL club sponsor among large internet enterprises of China,” a company spokesman said this week.

“The strategic alliance enables our network to be fully connected with the football field, thereby promoting and enhancing the group’s pioneering position in the Chinese internet industry.”

“Liaoning Whowin” will benefit from publicity it receives through VODone, which has attracted a large number of sports fans through its website and three lottery platforms, Zhongguozucaiwang, Diyicai and Lottery 365.

Serving more than 100 million lottery players over the years, Zhongguozucaiwang is supported by 15 million loyal users. Lottery 365, which was launched in 2012, is the only leading handset lottery product in China that integrates live match broadcasting, live scores, Weibo social interactivity and lottery betting, and the number of users downloading Lottery 365 exceeds 6 million.

Liaoning Whowin is the only “ten-time champion” in Chinese football history, and has trained several top players for China’s national football team. It has won the ninth Asian Club Championship, the highest achievement of any professional Chinese football team so far.
