Swan song for Euro 2016 gambling rings in Vietnam

Police in the Vietnamese province of Dong Thap reported over the weekend that they have detected three football betting rings during the UEFA Euro 2016, which has just ended in a 1 – 0 victory to Portugal in its final against France.

Raiding parties shuttered the rings and arrested 30 individuals, seizing equipment, cash and other evidence at three locations, a spokesman revealed, adding that the evidence suggests that the gambling rings were relatively small, with wagers handled in the equivalent of tens of thousands rather than millions of US dollars.
