The Royal Windsor Racecourse and online gambling operator Unibet have become sponsorship partners for the forthcoming flat season.

Unibet will have wide branding opportunities at the Berkshire track throughout the year while sponsoring around 20 races.

Aside from becoming the Royal Windsor Racecourse’s official betting and gaming partner, Unibet will also sponsor Windsor’s Owners, Trainers and Jockeys championship, confirmed The Racing Post.

Unibet said its newly-launched and improved UK and Irish racing product has seen a record number of depositing customers, active player levels and turnover in the past three months.  A strategy it intends to develop further with additional marketing sponsorships during 2014.

“Unibet is delighted to be so closely associated with such a traditional, well respected and iconic UK racecourse,” said Ed Nicholson, Head of Unibet’s UK Marketing Operations. “The partnership with Royal Windsor is one of many horse racing associations and marketing initiatives that Unibet will be announcing in the coming weeks.

“With 26 meetings throughout the Summer – 22 fixtures on Monday nights – the partnership with Royal Windsor provides us with an opportunity to talk consistently to a targeted group of potential customers, not just in Berkshire, but throughout the country via ATR and branded coverage in all sorts of other media.”

”We are delighted to welcome one of Europe’s leading online bookmakers as our betting partner to Royal Windsor Racecourse,” added Stuart Dorn, executive director of the Royal Windsor.

“We have an exciting season ahead of us where we are looking to continue the development and engagement of the course. Our partnership with a winner from the International Gaming Awards 2014, a leading and innovative sportsbook, and one that intends to promote its racing product offering extensively in 2014 and beyond will complement both party’s positioning and aims for the next year and beyond.”
