Aussie adverts ban imminent

News on 16 Mar 2018

In Australia, gambling advertisements will be banned during live sport broadcasts between 5am and 8.30pm from March 30.

The already-announced restrictions (see previous reports) are part of new industry codes registered by the media watchdog ACMA, applying to commercial free-to-air TV, radio and pay TV.

Federal Communications Minister Mitch Fifield said on Friday further legislation before parliament will ensure similar rules apply to online content.
