Christmas cheer

News on 26 Dec 2010

A New Zealand punter from the small town of Magascene in New Zealand must have been especially nice all year and then some – Santa (in the shape of the New Zealand Lottery) brought him a NZ$13 million prize to spread some Yuletide cheer.
New Zealand Lotteries’ chief executive Todd McLeay said that the winning Lotto Powerball ticket was worth a cool $12,991,369, although as we went to press Sunday it had not yet been claimed.
Two other players each won a NZ$333,333 share of the first division prize on Christmas Day, with the winning tickets sold at Edmonton Stationery and Lotto in Waitakere, and Sweet Lotto Centre, on the North Shore.
