News on 15 Dec 2017

PokerStars.fr has become the first French operator to be given permission by regulator ARJEL to participate in the shared multi-national player pool project once it is launched.

Our readers will recall that France, Italy, Portugal and Spain have agreed to partner on the project, allowing their operators wider opportunities to attract and provide services to online poker fans.

The permission is conditional on PokerStars.fr only sharing liquidity with the four countries that have agreed to collaborate, and obtaining the necessary permissions from the relevant regulators.

PokerStars is licensed in all four participating countries.

Reel Malta, the holding company for PokerStars.fr is required to keep the regulators informed of any future changes in its involvement with the liquidity project, which is expected to become a reality in 2018.
