UK advertising authority bans more online gambling adverts

Britain’s advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Authority has again been active; banning advertisements flighted by Spin Palace and Jackpot Cafe.

Malta-licensed Spin Palace provoked a complaint in respect of an advertisement promising sign up bonuses and a click through to more information.

The complainant alleged that the offer was misleading in that it did not make it sufficiently clear that any winnings were the subject of x50 wager-through requirements, an argument that the ASA supported.

In the Jackpot Cafe case, Alderney-licensed owner, Table Top Entertainment, was also instructed to remove advertising on a social gaming site which extravagantly claimed substantial winnings from a free cash offer.

Complainants came forward challenging the company to substantiate its advertising claims, and were supported by the Authority.
