Card games brings families together in new website

Presumably skirting US legal perils by keeping the action just for fun, Minnesota couple Bruce and Michelle Nord have announced the imminent launch of a new online card playing website titled MyKinPlay.com.

The duo’s USP is that kith and kin can be brought together through card games on the site – an “ultimate family experience” – where family and friends can gather on a secure website to enjoy a variety of games for fun.

Cynics will also note it’s a good way to build brand and player base in anticipation of US or state legalisation.

The Nord’s promise that players will be able to interact almost as if they were in the same room, while in a secure, private online environment.

“My large family is very close” Michelle Nord said this week. “When we get together, many hours are spent playing card and dice games. However, my older siblings are retiring, and they are more dispersed physically, especially in the winter season. I could not find a website that closely mimics the ‘Saturday night cards with the buddies’ kind of atmosphere that would allow us to all stay connected, even when physically apart, and that was my inspiration for Mykin Play.”

Whilst it is not yet clear what software will be deployed, Nord says that the site has been designed for gamers of all skills and ages, and will be easy to use, including features such as:

* Card and dice games that everyone knows and loves
* Private game tables: Though players will have the opportunity to play at public tables, private table environments will be offered
* Dealer’s choice: a feature allows the Dealer role to be rotated among the players at the table. When each player is presented with the Dealer responsibility, they have the opportunity to choose the game they would like the table to play.
* An ad-free environment
